Today is the beginning of Mercury’s shift back toward being a forward moving planet; no more Mercury retrograde for us Earthlings. Gratefully this is the last Mercury retrograde of 2015. It’ll take another week to get back into the groove of things so a little more patience is required around electronics, communications, and travel. Here’s a little fall Feng Shui to get the Prosperity/Wealth/Abundance, Health, and Fame/Recognition flowing your way. Three out of nine guas in one cure? Now...

Apples and Grandma’s Love

National Apple Betty Day is today and reminds me of a recipe passed down from my Grandmother for Apple Pandowdy. It’s an easy recipe of apples cut into slices, cinnamon, and sugar placed in a buttered pan with a quick crust (flour, sugar, milk) poured over top. Simple. But so much love went into those simple deserts. I believe that’s part of the reason we never gained any weight – too much love blocked the fat receptors. LOL – I wish. But I do recommend the art of L-O-V-I-N-G...

Chicken Soup

Today I have been stymied by a cold. Thank goodness I got ahead of it and it’s only a head cold. And I did so with lots of Chinese herbs, ginger, hot cayenne peppers, supplements, and good old fashioned (HIGH quality) silver. Good stuff, if not a bit yucky on the palate. But I want to stay healthy. Another home remedy is eating chicken noodle soup. I have recently heard the reason why chicken soup is a staple for a cold. It comes from the days of eating with real cutlery made from silver....

Honey of a Month Feng Shui

Posted by on Sep 5, 2015 in 5 Elements, Cures, Energy Flow Ch’i, Heath Gua | 0 comments

National Honey Month is celebrated in September and what an amazing gift we have in Honey. Feng Shui tells us that honey is an Earth Element (Sweet Taste) food. Earth is the balancing element in Feng Shui and it makes sense that it would host honey as honey is an ancient healing food. Honey gives us an energy boost, stimulates our immune systems, and improves our digestive systems. Research also shows that honey possesses carcinogen-preventing and anti-tumor properties. It’s great for cuts...

Corn Full Moon – Letting Go and Gaining Health

Posted by on Aug 29, 2015 in Energy Flow Ch’i, Heath Gua, Helpful People & Travel Gua | 0 comments

This month’s Full Moon is called the Corn Moon. And yes, it’s partly to do with the northern hemisphere gathering corn this time of year but it also has to do with energy. And Feng Shui is all about balancing the energy. It’s a time to put aside those old hurts and emotional pain you’ve been holding on to that no longer serves your greater good. Just say goodbye to the excess baggage that’s keeping you down. One amazing step that’s helped me let go of the physical pain and emotion...

LOVE My Feet!

August 17th is ‘National I LOVE My Feet Day!” and boy do I have some advice for your footsies to feel the love. Your feet are your stability, your grounding, your health, your everything. If you need any of those things in your life, look to your feet. Feng Shui is very practical – if you walk around saying it, you should look for those sayings manifesting in your life. So when a client brings up feet issues or says things like “get back on my feet”, “get cold feet”, “the...

Happy July 28th Birthday to my youngest sister, Beth. On your special day, and always, I wish for you stability, strength, support, and love. These are all Earth Element themes and with the Earth Element encompassing three guas or areas of your home, it is a predominant theme in our daily lives. To welcome the energy of stability and support, place earth items in these three guas located in the far back right (Love & Relationships), exact middle (Heath), and front left of your home (Wisdom,...

Hot & Spicy Feng Shui

Horseradish month is July – and how fitting the hot veggie root is featured in one of the hot summer Fire Element months. But in Feng Shui, horseradish is a Metal Element food. Why? Because it represents the spicy taste – no wonder I love hot and spicy food as a Fire Element. (See how these Elements intertwine to assist and build upon each other?) Metal foods dispersing sluggish energy and promote circulation. Plus Metal benefits damp dispositions – and who’s not feeling a...
