Bringing Inspired Intention to Your Life

Home as a Refuge

I have always been told my home in like a refuge to my visitors. They are so comfortable that they want to curl up and stay. I tend to want to do the same by lounging in luxury while taking in the wonders of the soul. I may have overdone it on the relaxed, earth energy my home shares. When it’s tidy that is. See, I live with an engineer husband. And, yes, I am confessing that my home is not always tidy. I know, I know. I’m a Feng Shui consultant. It’s supposed to be spotless. Supposed. What an absurd word. Phuuut. But I’m also married and do not like to constantly clean up behind my man. There are many other fun things to do while hanging out in my home with my hubby. So what is my Feng Shui advice for getting the hubby to participate? Metal Energy, the energy of fall. It’s the get it done energy but also a very fixed energy. To help make it more flexible, I add fire. Imagine metal being made into a ring. How does the metallurgist make it supple? She adds fire. So add a soft candle, a staff of incense, or a plant with pointed leaves – all Fire Element items – to your Metal guas (the front and middle sections on the right when looking inward from your front door). And hopefully you’ll not get too distracted by the firelight and soft glow that you actually clean the house. Hee-Hee. Love and Light!
