National Comic Book Day is today, along with Native American Day. Growing up, the legends of the noble native Americans spurred my imagination. And, me being me, caused me to ask some uncomfortable questions of my parents and teachers. Like, “If the Native Americans were here first, how did Columbus “discover” America in 1492?”. Yeah, I was THAT kid. Asking questions. Wondering. WONDER-ing. So it’s only natural that comic books would eventually come into my life. And talk about setting you WONDER-ing. The angst of being “different”. The lure of finding other humans to fit in with. (Yes, I was THAT kid, too.) The basic human need to belong, be loved, and share your unique perspective with a world that does not scorn you, but rather embraces you. Now, you’re seeing how these two ‘days’ really fit together from my perspective. And, of course, that’s a Feng Shui perspective, too. Balance. Acceptance. With Grace, if I may. Love for self before seeking love from others. Wonder at the stories, the lessons passed down from generation to generation. Peace. Hope. Forgiveness of both others and of yourself. That’s a path to one-ness. A path to “I AM THAT I AM”. For I am all things – the one who forgives and also the one who judges. I accept that I AM. And for that I am grateful. Love and Light!
