Ties that Bind, Ties to Cut

Here’s a beautiful tip my Feng Shui teacher, Karen Rauch Carter, shared with me. “The family gua is about the ties and connections to the ancestors. I use the family gua to break energy ties from diseases that ancestors have.” Gather string and scissors and go to the center, left-hand side of your home; the Family & Daily Cash Gua. Actively think of the things you DON’T want passed down from your family – diseases, negative thoughts (about money, race, class), guilt, fear. See them in your mind, remember them from a time when you experienced them — how you felt, how it impacted you, how you have decided to NOT have those thoughts in your life. Now use the string to ‘cut’ that connection — and ONLY that connection — to your family. After all we want the family, just not their “stuff”. Imagine all the negatives floating away back to the universe to become something good. Now focus on the love you share with your family. Think of a beautiful moment you shared with that family member. Forgive and give renewed love to that family member for the GOOD things they do, think and say. Moving forward, use those happy thoughts to build a positive connection.
