National Punch Day is today and I wanted to focus on the drinking punch, not the hitting punch, by sharing my mom’s amazing recipe for punch. Well, it’s based on my mom’s traditional punch recipe made from Kool-Aid, just a little healthier. My mom was the ‘go-to’ punch maker of the family and community and when you try this recipe you’ll know why. It’s quite simple and an amazing way to make an occasion extra-special.
Punch
3 limes, sliced & juiced
4 lemons, sliced & juiced
1 large can pineapple juice
3 qts. water
1 qt. Ginger Ale
1 pot Hibiscus Tea
Mix together juices, water, and tea in freezable containers. Freeze until slushy (2-3 hours). Combine with Ginger Ale in punch bowl. Serve.
Now there’s some love in a cup. I always think of my mom when I have punch – it’s all about the happy childhood memories surrounding punch. The fancy bowls, the tiny cups made of glass. So fancy. So have some punch, share the love of the Mother gua, the gua of Love and Relationships, and be in gratitude for all those mom’s out there who made our childhoods that much better. Love and Light!
