“Love a Tree Day”, May 16th energy, is near and dear to this tree-hugging, earth-loving child of the 70’s. Literally, I was a child in the 70’s. And that energy of peace, love, and hope oozed into my pores, permeated my mind, and took hold of my heart. I grew up in rural NC with trees as my playground. And my love and caregiving to trees has followed me all my life. One of the oldest trees I’ve ever met (yes, I am one of THOSE tree people), shared that after 100 years, a tree can start replenishing the earth’s energy in addition to cleaning the air. One more reason to keep our old growth forests around. Go hug a tree today and say thanks for the oxygen exchange – smiles!!
